saGuijo at 4: It got this crazy on Day 1

saGuijo at 4: Where it all began (Day 2)

Things have changed. Armi Millare gives us a view of saGuijo circa 2004, saying how a lot of things have moved around inside the same room that witnessed the start of Up Dharma Down. Then, Taken By Car’s Sarah Marco says this:

“saGuijo. Where it all began.”

Uttered after a long, deep breath, this is the one confessional line that holds true for most Day 2 bands.

Day 2’s line-up was a hot pot of sorts. It matters little if you braved the Saturday rain to listen to shoegaze, experimental, or metal. It doesn’t even matter if you didn’t go there for the music. What counts is you went out of your hideout to stand up and sweat with us. There is nothing more appeasing than to see empty bottles of beer on soiled and sometimes wet floors, and we would be there, hardly knowing each other, but sitting down together and camping anyway. )

If there was one thing I wish I’d done more of, it’s that I wish I got to talk to and drink with everyone I was taking photos of. BUT, to the honorable guys of Giniling Festival, I will still not drink your Iced Tea!! To Odysseylive who supported the event, Miggy and Geoff, thanks for this. To Manong Manny (we know that is not your name, but you might be sharing the same genes) who stood by the door, thanks for letting me beyond the white lines. URLIEK, GOD!!

The best laid plans never get laid May 3, 2008

So there was a waiting period of three hours before I realized how incapable I was to:

1. Take a cab to Ortigas at 2 in the morning
2. Or stay put where I am and wait for another hour or two
3. Successfully kill in Special Force without being killed first
4. Overcome noobness and sleepiness
5. Maintain happiness while being asked all this

Kindred: i’m interviewing interns in a while.. im not in my best mood, i’m hungover, i want to throw up, i have a headache, my neck aches, all in all im very disoriented.

Kindred: throw in i can’t digest anything in there. also, i’m wearing the wrong bra — i put on a racer back bra under a low-cut top. naturally, the straps are showing.

Plans April 26, 2008

See, this is another morning self portrait. I’m inside my trusty dirty, mirror. It must be a Saturday again.

How to get this look:

1. Put on clothes.
2. Get camera.
3. Duck in front of mirror.
4. Set camera. I’m at 1/5, f 3.5, ISO 800 because while there are lots of sunshine coming in, the walls of my room are of a dark color.
5. Slowly peek at mirror from behind the camera by tilting head sideways. Careful to show only the upper half of your face. It adds drama.
6. Click.
7. Upload.
8. Post.

What’s more fun is I don’t have to work this weekend. Since last weekend, I’ve been putting off many plans such as biking to Ministop to hoard Big M’s, getting a pedicure, getting a haircut (well I just wanted this since this morning), changing my name, hanging out by myself in Burger King did that last week.

I/we might be out of town this coming mid-week holiday. I think we might go swimming. I’m not going to sunburn myself again, though. The peeling I’m experiencing now has not reached a level of maturity.

I’m actually very happy in this photo. Why it doesn’t look it, I don’t know.

Getting real though, this project isn’t done until after ad implementation. It should be rolling in two days or so.
